the trouble with Greece is complicity. Why is it that nobody goes after those who fill a freshly burnt forest with "mesonetes"? How far away is the arsonist from the actual developer in a specific locality?
And how about the "innocents" who buy a little summer house amid burned trees and never wish to know how their little piece of heaven came to be?
I say this with real pain and indignation. All Greeks are guilty for looking the other way for decades now and allowing corrutpion of all shorts to reach these catastrophic heights.
only vigilance on a local level would prevent the arsonists and their bosses (the developers and the politicians who foster them) from completing their mission. this was just the first phase.
